                Zanda Myers has been a trial attorney for over fifteen years. As a former county prosecutor,Her duties included the prosecution of misdemeanor criminal offenses, conducting preliminary hearings of felony offenses, establishing guardianships for the legally disabled, and prosecuting child neglect and abuse cases in juvenile court. Additionally, she contributed to drafting county ordinances and writing grants for community programs that address domestic violence. She also sat as a member of the Family Accountability, Intervention and Response Team and the Multidisciplinary Team for Grayson County. 

              Prior to moving to Grayson County, Zanda worked in private practice handling civil litigation and criminal defense matters.  She regularly served as a court-appointed Guardian ad Litem for child victims of neglect and abuse in Breckinridge County.  She has also worked in Meade County performing general civil litigation and criminal defense.

              Zanda Myers is the only candidate for District Judge with extensive trial experience as both a prosecutor and a criminal defense attorney.  She had been lead trial counsel in both misdemeanor and felony cases.  She has also conducted civil jury trials involving complex litigation such as medical malpractice, personal injury and wrongful arrest.  She has also successfully argued cases to the Kentucky Court of Appeals  

                Zanda is a current member of the American Bar Association and Kentucky Bar Association. She is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, United States Bankruptcy Court as well as United States District Court for both the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky.  Zanda graduated cum laude from the University of Maryland in 1995 with a Bachelors of Science in Government and Politics.  In 1997, she graduated with honors from Oklahoma City University with a Masters in Criminal Justice Administration.  She received a Juris Doctor from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law in 2003. 

                Prior to becoming an attorney, Zanda taught elementary school.  She served as an advocate for victims of domestic violence with the Center for Women and Families.  She was also a Court Appointed Special Advocate for abused and neglected children.

                Most importantly, Zanda is a mother to three children: Koda Smith, Katie Myers and Danny Myers.  She owns and operates a small farm in the Sadler community of Grayson County with her spouse, Dan Myers.  Her parents are Wesley and Vickie Gillock of Clarkson, Kentucky.  She looks forward to continuing to serve her community as District Judge.
